This posting is a little late but Amy's mom shared more news about Paul's progress in mid-June:
Update on Paul: Paul is doing so well that he would like to think that he doesn't have cancer anymore. Unfortunately, the pain tells him that he still does. He continues to gain strength and has not been as tired as he was at the beginning. On a good note, he was able to go a good 3-4 weeks without seeing a doctor. Two months ago, he was seeing a doctor at least 3-4 times a week. In the next few weeks, he will have one appointment a week with various doctors. We are looking for good results. This month, Paul was able to attend 2 graduation parties and was able to stay for a few hours to enjoy the visits. Just as a precaution, he did take extra pain meds. to compensate for any unwanted pain that might have occurred. He was fine after each party. There are three prayers that Paul would ask for:
#1 His main goal right now is to be able to walk his youngest daughter, Hannah, down the aisle on her wedding day later this year
#2 along with that he would like to walk her down the aisle without any apparatuses needed: a walker, a wheel chair, a cane, etc.
#3 And most of all, he does not want Hannah to be holding him up while they walk down the aisle together, he wants to be holding her as they walk down together.
Thank you for your prayers/ good thoughts. We so appreciate them.

3 Years Too Long
So, 3 years ago today is one of the crappiest days of all of the crappy days...
A day we had to learn how to say goodbye to our sunshine on a cloudy day, Amy.
She is missed at every moment. Our hearts still haven’t healed completely. I’m at work right now because I have to be but as soon as I get home, all bets are off. I’ll be jumping into pajamas and curling up in bed to binge watch some of Amy and I’s favorite movies.
That’s my plan and I’m sticking to it.
We love and miss you Amy! But I’m sure you already know that. You’re a part of our lives every day, not just today.

Update on Amy's Dad, Paul
An update on Paul (Amy's Dad) as told by Lauren (Amy's Mom): He was admitted to a rehab facility March 27th. He resides in a beautiful place. It is bright and cheery. By God's goodness, the place is just minutes from the hospital where he will continue to receive radiation treatments on his spine and the insurance will cover transporting him to the hospital. Hopefully, he will only need to be there for a short time. He has improved over the last few days, especially with his walking. Thank you for your prayers/good thoughts!
Great News about Larette Island
Alouette is NOT closing!! I repeat... Alouette is NOT closing!!
A current tenant and friend of mine LRRiven Resident (Riven for short) and I just submitted support tickets a few moments ago to transfer Larette Island to her! She is going to keep Alouette and everything else on the sim as-is.
With that being said, I haven't been accepting donations towards Alouette since March 1st and I had also removed the donation R2D2 from Amy's store at that time. There will no longer be any updates to the Donation Trail on this blog and the sole purpose for this blog will continue to be in regards to Amy's legacy.
Thank you for everyone's support on this journey. Giving up Larette Island was one of the most difficult choices I've ever had to make. I've had it for about 10 years and I have a lot of memories tied to it, especially with Amy. My heart is comforted and I am so overjoyed to know that the sim is going to a well known friend!!!

More Bad News...
There's more bad news for Amy's family. With Amy's mom's permission I'm sharing her recent post about their situation:
"The storm outside may be ending but the storm inside the Nauman household is just beginning. Paul had a recent MRI due to continued pain. The results have shown a 7 cm mass on his pelvis and, due to potential cancer in his blood, it has destroyed the bone marrow and thus he has a fractured vertebrae. He has a CT scan on Monday and a biopsy on Tuesday. He has been on OTC pain meds. which has helped minimally but enough to get him through the day, As a result of the pain, he has been in bed most of the time. The doctor has told him that due to the biopsy on Tuesday he must stop the medication. Please pray for him to endure the pain. Please pray for healing. Our second storm is that due to both us being out of work (Paul since Nov. 9th) our house is heading into foreclosure. Please pray for wisdom. One good thing in all this is that our faith in God is strong. We wouldn't want to go through this without Him. Even Jesus, Himself, has been known to calm the storm. We thank you for your prayers/good thoughts."
Paul is Amy's dad, Lauren is Amy's mom. Amy's sister, Hannah, has started a gofundme page to help them during this difficult time. Please help if you can by donating, by simply sharing the page to spread the word or just say some extra prayers for them. They are the kindest people I've ever met (I know where Amy gets it from) and they've already been through so much... Thank you for your time!
From Hannah:
" Hi everyone,
I've set up this Go Fund Me to help my parents through this awful time. Any donation is more than appreciated and prayers to reach this goal to keep the house. Thank you for everyone's support and prayers. This is what keeps us going and strong through this time.
Please share
Thank you so much
Hannah"

Larette Island Future
Hi Guys,
It's with a very heavy heart that I make this announcement but due to several factors, I have to sell Larette Island. If I'm unable to find someone to take the sim over, I'll have to turn it back in to Linden Lab. Amy's family has also been notified.
*** Please don't panic, this is a ~1 month notice. We have the sim (at most) through 4/10/18. ***
As you may be aware, I'm not active in SL anymore. Because of that, my income in SL is next to nothing. We have lost several tenants and I've had a very difficult time finding new ones to take their place. And, my RL income can't continue to support the cost of the sim on a monthly basis. I know Amy would not want me to stress myself out which is why I've decided to finally let it go. I'm still very proud that I was able to keep the sim and Alouette open the past 3 years, I never could have done it without your help and the support of the SL community!
Right now, the details are fuzzy and I have to call LL tomorrow during normal business hours to find out how all this works. I'd like to see the sim go to someone interested in keeping Alouette open, but I have to find out if that's even possible. There are fees involved with transferring a sim to another person, but I'm not entirely sure what they are. Also, I know the process takes 5-10 business days so I would have to have a buyer and care tickets submitted no later than 3/27/18 to avoid having to pay tier for another month (which I know I cant afford).
With all that being said, please let me know if you're interested in taking the sim over. My current 3 tenants have first dibs.
My asking price is $500 USD (contingent upon the answers I get from LL tomorrow. I believe the transfer fees are $100 USD which I will pay)
Tier is paid the 11th of every month and it's $295 USD
Thank you for your support, understanding, friendship and kindness.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards,
Lacie Chambers

It's been 2 years
5/21/2017 is today's date. Officially it's been 2 years since Amy lost her battle and had to leave us behind here on Earth. One of Amy's biggest fears was to be forgotten. For those of us that knew and loved her, we know that's impossible. Amy's very much a part of our every day lives in various ways. Nonetheless, my husband Mike and I wanted to do something to honor her memory and I was inspired by a Facebook group I was added to.
It's called Northeast Ohio Rocks! The idea behind this group is simply to "complete a random act of kindness to unexpectedly brighten someone's day one rock at a time and to pass it on". You paint rocks, label and hide them in places (that are permitted) such as parks, parking lots, stores etc... and when someone finds the rock we hope that they'll share a photo on Facebook and with the Northeast Ohio Rocks! group that they found it. Rocks aren't supposed to be kept, once found, they are supposed to be re-hidden. They can be moved to another location so long as the happiness can be shared. As painters, we can keep track of rocks that we've hidden by assigning them a certain hashtag and searching for that hashtag on Facebook. Google or Instagram.
For the past few weeks we have been painting rocks with the "Leaf on the Wind" image (to the best of my artistic ability lol) and we're going to go around to a few parks in our area to hide them. Amy brought a lot of joy to our lives and this is our way of sharing Amy with our little corner of the world. If we can make someone smile then we're doing right by her.
The hashtag we've assigned is #amyslegacyrocks
The "Leaf on the Wind" is part of a quote from the T.V. show/movie Firefly/Serenity. It was Amy's motto: "I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar". She even had it tattoo'd on her wrist the first time she beat cancer.
The way I look at it is, the wind is a force of nature that we can't control and sometimes we encounter scenarios in our lives that we can't control. If you've ever watched a leaf blowing in the wind, there's a kind of grace to it. No matter the journey it's on or where it ends up, it beautifully glides along with the wind that's pushing it to it's final destination. In our lives it's easy to talk ourselves out of things or oppose the "winds of change". Being a "Leaf on the Wind" means you're strong enough to embrace that change and have the courage to believe in ourselves that we CAN do it. Amy had this courage and she fought even though she couldn't control what was happening to her. Always remember, you can too!

Real Heroes!
Hey Guys!
Between the donations and payment that Amy's Dad made recently, we raised a total of $59,280L! That's enough to help me keep Alouette open in world for another 4 months! I'm always so astounded by the generosity of the SL community. Several of you made remarkable donations which was truly selfless. I don't want to put anyone on the spot, but you know who you are <3 In all reality though, I'm so very grateful for every single donation - big or small.
So you have a screenshot the exact remaining days left is:

(Sorry I hid the Parcel ID - I don't understand how all that stuff works and am always cautious about potential hacks and stuff!)
I know I had mentioned on plurk, I struggled with sharing what was going on "behind the scenes" because I don't want any of you to feel that it's your responsibility or obligation to help me with paying for my sim that Amy's store is on. I feel it's appropriate for me to share some raw honesty though, so here it is:
If you would have asked me 2 or even 3 years ago if I ever thought there would be a point in time that I would "leave" SL - I would have flat out said NO! At that time, I couldn't imagine my life without SL being a part of it in some way or another. Even as I've built my RL career, gotten married and am helping raise my 3 step-children, I've understandably not had as much time for SL. But I always came back. Not because of my SL business or my sim, but because of the close relationships I've built there. It was the people I logged into SL for. One of those people for me was Amy. I've said it over and over, Amy wasn't just a friend - we might not have shared the same blood, but she was my sister.
When Amy left us, and when others that I was close to moved on in their real lives (which is totally OK!), SL isn't the same for me anymore. I lost my drive and desire to log in. It's not that I can't build new friendships and relationships, but there's an emptiness. With the fact that I've grown away from SL, it's also understandable that my SL income isn't as much as it used to be. So when the donation money started to run out, I knew I'd have to reach out to Amy's Dad for us to make a decision on what our next move would be. Both of us came to the conclusion that we still feel that people want to keep Alouette in world - and selfishly I'm not ready to let it go. (Even if it meant I'd have to use RL funds in an already tight RL budget).
When I do log into SL and walk around Alouette, it's like time is frozen and Amy's just "logged off" for the night. It's almost as if Amy could log on at any moment and IM me with some sassy comment. I'm not sure if any of this makes any sense to anyone. I just know in my heart I'm not ready - and I think I've seen from the outpouring of support recently you guys aren't ready either.
If it weren't for Amy and Alouette, I would let it all go and walk away. I don't care about my business that I worked to build for over 6 years. I don't care about the sim. All I care about is Amy and her legacy. I will do my best to honor her memory and keep doing whatever I can to keep it going. But I can't take the credit for it, you guys are the real heroes. You've helped me these past couple years by lending an ear, listening to me whine, tolerating all of my "I miss Amy" posts or sending a couple $L my way...
Another thing I repeat often, I wish you could see into my heart to know how much its bursting full of gratitude. I will never, ever, ever, ever be able to express it adequately. And I know that Amy's family are just as surprised and forever grateful for your generosity as well. Thank you for helping us keep her close. <3
